Confrontando la TNM con alcune versioni bibliche italiane, ho riscontrato una lieve differenza nel rendere 2 Timoteo 4:2
TNM: predica la parola, datti ad essa con urgenza , in tempo favorevole, in tempo difficoltoso
Nuova Riveduta: predica la parola, insisti in ogni occasione …
C.E.I.: annunzia la parola, insisti in ogni occasione …
Nuova Diodati e Riveduta: predica la parola, insisti a tempo e fuor di tempo
Diodati: che tu predichi la parola, che tu faccia instanza a tempo e fuor di tempo
Parola del Signore: predica la parola di Dio, insisti in ogni occasione
Premesso che per me il senso generale del passo non cambia di molto, mi chiedevo perché la TNM rende “ephistethi” (mi pare si traslitteri così) con “datti ad essa con urgenza” mentre le altre con “insisti”.
Ho letto che il verbo ephistemi significa presentarsi, sopraggiungere, e che quindi, qui il senso sarebbe di presentarsi spesso o di insistere.
Visto che non mi intendo di greco, potreste chiarirmi questo punto? Inoltre ci sono anche altre versioni che rendono come la TNM?

mi pare che l'idea di base che Paolo voglia trasmettere sia più quella di "urgenza"

nel passo paolino troviamo il verbo greco
ephistemi, che secondo l' autorevole Dizionario Esegetico del Nuovo Testamento significa, tra gli altri, anche "
incombere" (gli altri significato sono: "
sopraggiungere, avvicinarsi, essere presente", pagina 1488, volume I), il verbo trasmette quindi il senso di urgenza......

Sempre il DENT dice: "intervenire, nel senso di essere pronto/essere a disposizione in 2 Tm 4,2; incombere in 4,6". Il BDAG "essere presenti nella prontezza ad assolvere un compito". Il Vincest: "2Ti 4:2 Be instant (ἐπίστηθι) Better, be ready. Once in Paul, 1Th_5:3. Frequent in Luke and Acts. Lit. stand by, be at hand, be present. To come suddenly upon, Luk_2:38. Hence, be ready. Instant signifies urgent, importunate, persevering. Lat. instare to press upon". Il Barnes: The meaning here is, that he should be constant in this duty. Literally, “to stand by, or to stand fast by;” that is, he was to be pressing or urgent in the performance of this work. He was always to be at his post, and was to embrace every opportunity of making known the gospel. What Paul seems to have contemplated was not merely, that he should perform the duty at stated and regular times; but that he should press the matter as one who had the subject much at heart, and never lose an opportunity of making the gospel known". Il Clarke: "Be instant in season, out of season - Επιστηθι ευκαιρως, ακαιρως. Be urgent whether the times be prosperous or adverse, whenever there is an opportunity; and when there is none, strive to make one".
