La scena di caccia più antica del mondo. Si trova in Indonesia, nella regione meridionale di Sulawesi: è qui, in una grotta calcarea, che gli archeologi hanno ritrovato un dipinto preistorico che fa anticipare le prime prove della narrazione umana di oltre 20 mila anni.

Le cifre si sprecano, anche per datare questi artefatti, comunque interessanti.

Lascaux tra l'altro è stata riprodotta in 3D per evitare la contaminazione, a motivo delle tantissime visite dei turisti interessati.

C'è scritto nell'articolo

A determinarlo è stata la misurazione della quantità di uranio e torio nei noduli di carbonato di calcio depositati sulla superficie del dipinto

L'Uranio ha un tempo di dimezzamento di 80'000 anni e col Torio si arriva oltre i 100'000 anni.

E' un metodo generalmente troppo "grezzo" per poter datare reperti di max. 40'000 anni.
Quella che hai citata è la prima opinione, che poi dovrebbe essere confermata.

Caro Simon,

per favore fammi capire: che c'entra il fatto che:

con l'affermazione che si tratta di un metodo troppo grezzo? Come l'una dipende dall'altra?

se questo metodo si avvera efficace e preciso per datare reperti sino a max. 40'000 anni, allora perché dovrebbe risultare grezzo e impreciso per datare questi artefatti ?

per favore, puoi citarmi un articolo scientifico, o divulgativo, per motivare questa affermazione, questo limite? grazie!

Perché questo tipo di datazione non dovrebbe essere valido per confermare un'età di almeno 40'000 anni, approssimativamente?
